On June 1, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Strilets and the adviser to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko paid a working visit to the Chornobyl NPP. They arrived accompanied by representatives of various divisions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, as well as the management of and its subordinate enterprises, ChNPP reports.
The participants of the meeting discussed the current state of radiation safety in the exclusion zone and certain aspects of the work of the enterprises of the State Agency of Ukraine for the management of the exclusion zone.
During a visit to the exclusion zone in the city of Chernobyl, the minister handed over assistance from the US Department of Energy - a special vehicle to increase the efficiency of response to emergency events for the SSE "Central Enterprise for the Management of Radioactive Waste", and from the Norwegian Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety - a car, which is intended for radiation monitoring and sampling for the "Ekocentr" chipboard.
According to sources at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, today it became known about the transfer of acting general director of ChNPP Valery Seyda to the position of first deputy general director of the enterprise. In his place, according to unconfirmed data, executive director Serhiy Martynov, who has been working at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant for a long time, was appointed.
