Energoatom ordered a feasibility study of the Westinghouse nuclear fuel production complex from KIEP (Kyiv Research and Design Institute Energoproject)
19.04.2023
JSC "Kyiv Research and Design Institute "Energoproekt" will develop a feasibility study of a complex for the production of heat-releasing assemblies for the order of NNEGC Energoatom. The value of the contract concluded on April 7 is UAH 41.85 million (the expected value is UAH 42.327 million). 30% of the purchase price will be advanced. This is reported in the "Prozorro" system.
The deadline for the works is until November 30, 2023. The contract is valid until February 28, 2026.
As previously reported, during the development of the Feasibility Study, an Environmental Impact Assessment should be developed, the productivity and location of the facility, possibilities of production and economic cooperation with enterprises of the selected industrial district, approximate data on the amount of capital investments, expected technical - economic indicators and the amount of additional research work that will precede the development of the project of the construction object. The technical and economic feasibility study should include the Compex General Plan, which will take into account that the delivery of components and the removal of finished Heat Separating Assemblies will be carried out by road transport, and transshipment from rail transport will take place to the nearest nuclear power plant.
At the stage of preparation of the feasibility study, at least three sites proposed for the location of the object should be considered, which were also previously determined by the KIEP.
In December 2022, NNEGC Energoatom developed and agreed on a roadmap for the construction of a technological complex for the production of Heat Separating Assemblies using Westinghouse technology. "Currently, the work schedule has been fully outlined and their pre-project part is already underway, and the complex is scheduled to be put into operation in 2026", Energoatom reported earlier.
