Cummins is investing more than $1 billion in its engine manufacturing network in Indiana, North Carolina and New York. She made this statement during the visit of US President Joseph Biden to her plant for the production of diesel engines and generators in Fridley, Minnesota. The purpose of the visit is to demonstrate how the recently passed Bipartisan Infrastructure Act (BIL) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) are working for the country's economy. The Cummins company supported both bills and worked closely with the White House and Congress to pass them, according to its official website.
Diesel Generators Cummins Inc. are used at all Ukrainian nuclear power plants in mobile diesel generating stations (MDGS), the implementation of which took place in accordance with the Comprehensive (consolidated) program for improving the safety of nuclear power plants (post-Fukushima measures). The application of MDGS is foreseen in the event of an emergency partial or complete blackout of power units, and in this extremely difficult autumn-winter period for the energy industry of Ukraine, their availability is difficult to overestimate.
The equipment has a high level of automation and is an additional barrier to the development of extra-project accidents. Each such mobile station is equipped with an autonomous system of fuel, lubrication, cooling, air intake and gas exhaust. The high reliability of MDGS consists in their independence from the performance of external systems and elements of the NPP, as well as in the ability to function in difficult environmental conditions.

In total, in 2016-2018, all NPPs were supplied with 12 MDGS equipped with diesel generators manufactured by Cummins Power Generation, which have stable voltage and current frequency indicators, are able to operate at a temperature of + 50°C without loss of power and accept a full load in one step.
