The Institute of Nuclear Research will monitor the radiation load for the RNPP
26.01.2023
The Institute of Nuclear Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine will monitor the radiation load of the reactor housings of all power units of the Rivne NPP until 2024.
The relevant contract with the Scientific and Technical Center of NNEGC Energoatom was published today in the Prozorro system.
As part of the monitoring, the current (from 2022 to 2024) and the accumulated radiation load of the reactor housings of the RNPP power units will be determined during the entire period of operation.
The relevant methodology was developed and approved by the IAD in 2022 for VVER-440 reactors, and in 2020 for VVER-1000 reactors.
Irradiation conditions will be determined at the level of the maximum radiation load and at the level of seams No. 3 and 4, located opposite the active zone. Neutron transfer calculations will be performed using the Monte Carlo method. The substantiation of the reliability of the results of the calculated determination of the radiation load of the reactor hulls will be carried out on the basis of experimental data through the installed neutron activation detectors near the outer surface of the hulls - the technical specification for the contract states.
