Director General of ZNPP Ihor Murashov has been released (updated)

IAEA Director General Rafael Marianno Grossi informed that he had received confirmation that Ihor Murashov, Director General of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, has been released and returned to his family.
This information was confirmed by NNEGC “Energoatom”, saying that “the occupiers threw him into the territory controlled by Ukraine on the evening of October 3. Now Ihor Murashov is safe and in the External Crisis Center of ZNPP in the city of Zaporizhzhya”.
It is to remind that on Friday, 30 September 2022, at about 4:00 pm, Director General of the ZNPP Ihor Murashov was detained by the russian patrol on his way from the plant to the town of Energodar. According to Energoatom, the car of the ZNPP director general was stopped and he was forcibly detained and taken blindfolded in an unknown direction.
On October 1, the IAEA reported that it had received information from the “relevant authorities” that Director General of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant Ihor Murashov abducted by the ruscists, “was temporarily detained and is in a temporary detention facility”. Grossi also informed that he appealed to russia about the immediate release of Murashov.
The Office of the Prosecutor General noted that an investigation into the hijacking of the director general of the Zaporizhzhya NPP had already been launched. Law enforcers opened criminal proceedings for violating the laws and customs of war.
